Sunshine Blogger Award No.2

To my surprise I was nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award not only once, but twice!!! I was nominated by @Stralthy the first time round, and have written my nomination post already.

This time though, I’ve been nominated by Simply Durant , and I am very grateful for this nomination as it gives me the opportunity to answer new questions! Simply Durant is a motherhood and lifestyle blog, which was started as a hobby in 2010. Natasha started her blog to document her oldest sons life and preserve all of the memories. Her blog has changed a lot since then and she’s ready to take her blog to a whole new level.

My favorite post of hers is Make A House A Home With Personalization.

So, as with every other award, this one also has a few rules:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you and link their blog to this post.
  2. Answer the 11 questions asked by your nominator.
  3. Nominate 11 other bloggers
  4. Ask them 11 questions – different from the ones you’ve answered.
  5. List the rules
  6. Display the Sunshine Blogger Award on your post or blog site.

Natasha’s questions:

What is the meaning behind your blog name? How did you choose it and why?

For years I have been struggling with finding my “calling”. I have way too many interests to choose one field. I studied marketing and realized I didn’t like it as soon as I started working. I have been wanting to become a beautician but then I also want to study to be a mechanic and know how to fix it. At the age of 29, all my peers are settled in jobs and have found their “calling”. Upon starting my blog, I wanted the name to say something about who I am. I started doing research on people like myself, and found that we are called “multipotentialites”. I found this to be the perfect description of my personality, hence the name “Thoughts Of A Multipotentialite”.

What is your favorite post that you’ve shared on your blog, and why?

My favorite post so far is probably Love Language . I’ve found this post to be very informative and writing it has made me think and reflect on my own relationships and how to better understand my partners’ love language. Feel free to give it a read!

The 5 Different Love Languages

How long have you been blogging, and why did you start?

I’ve only started my blog on 6 July 2018, so I’m still very new to this. I’ve always enjoyed writing and researching. I’ve written some poetry as well, and I’ve been looking for a creative outlet for a very long time. I didn’t know much about blogging, so it only came to mind recently. I was contemplating on whether to start a blog or not until I just decided to do it on the evening of 6 July 2018.

Has it been hard work? Yes. Has it been worth it? Definitely! You can read all about my blogging struggles during the first month on my post, What I learnt in my first month of blogging.

If you could go anywhere on vacation, where would you go?

So I’ve had to think about it a little bit.. I’ve never been out of South Africa, and would love to visit a few different places. If I could only take one trip though, I would want to go to New York City. I’m more of a city girl, and would love to explore NYC! Other than that I would love to visit any tropical island or backpack through Europe.

Who are your top 3 favorite bloggers and what do you like about them? What makes you go back to their blogs?

Number one is definitely @Teliateanna ! Her blog is called Life With Telia , and I absolutely love it. I go back every now and again to see if she has got a new post out. She has been so sweet and supportive, and we started our blogs round about the same time. I feel comfortable asking her for advice, and she’s a ‘glass-half-full” kind of person. Please give her blog a read, you won’t be sorry!

Two other bloggers that I really like is @CoffeeWithMom and @findgoodvibes

Coffee With Mom is a lifestyle and motherhood blog. She is a very supportive member of the Twitter Blogging Community, and I just love reading her posts!

find good vibes_ is a poetry/prose blog and I am not even going to try and do her blog justice by using words to explain what her blog is about. Her words make mine shy, and all I can say is that if your a lover of powerful poetry and prose, you’re going to fall in love with this blog!

Do you take your own blog photos or do you hire someone to take them for you?

As mentioned previously, I’m quite new to blogging. Up until now I’ve pretty much just made use of stock photos and Canva-designed images. In the near future, I will be starting to take my own photos for my posts – where possible.

What is your favorite social media platform for your blog, and why do you use it?

Twitter, hands down! I used to dislike Twitter when I had a personal account, but once I started a blogging profile and got into the blogging community, I am hooked! They’re just so supportive, and they’re always up for a read on your blog or a RT.

If you could work with any brand, which companies would you work with?

This , for me, was a difficult question. I blog based on research and experience of everyday things like Psychology, Health, Literature, Lifestyle and Creativity. I write because I love writing and at the moment I cannot see myself reviewing products or services. However, if anything was possible and I had lots of followers, I wouldn’t mind working with Collette Hayman, as I am a huge fan.

What is your favorite musical artist, and what song do you play on repeat the most?

I like all kinds of music, but have a soft spot for acoustic covers. My favorite is Boyce Avenue and Conor Maynard. A song I have on repeat currently is probably “I’ll Be There – Jess Glynne”.

We all have a go-to lip color. What shade of lipstick is your favorite?

I’ll admit, I have a bit of a lipstick problem. I don’t like colorful so will always go for the nude ranges. I have a few bright pinks and other colors, but I tend to usually go for the safe option. I’m quite pale, so I like coral shades as well as I feel it looks good on my skin tone.

I have like 9 different lipsticks in my handbag right now, but my most favorite at the moment is Rosy Nude from Yardley

What is your goal for the year, to accomplish on your blog?

At the moment I have small, monthly goals of increasing my followers, subscribers and blog traffic. I don’t have major yearly goals as yet as I only started my blog in July, so my main goal for now is to just enjoy and embrace it.

I nominate:

My 11 questions:

So I’m going to use the same 11 questions as on my previous post, because I feel that these are important questions to ask if you want to really get to know someone:

1 . Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?

2. What social stigma does society need to get over?

3. What are your views on religion?

4. What is your lucky number and why?

5. Why did you start blogging?

6. Name 3 things that bring you happiness in everyday life?

7. What genre of music do you enjoy?

8. Do you think aliens exist?

9. When do you blog? During the day or in the evenings?

10. Can you play a musical instrument?

11. Do you speak any other language than English? If yes, which language/s?

Thank you for reading this post, and thank you again to @SimplyDurant for nominating me a second time ’round!
