Sunday Sanity 4.0

It’s Sunday! This weekend sure went by fast. So fast that I, in fact, had almost forgotten about this post! Needless to say there was no time to prepare this post beforehand, but I can’t skip a post in this series as my OCD in this regard will get the better of me.

This week has been really busy again – seems like ‘busy’ is the new theme of my life. Usually by this time on a Sunday I’ll be stressed out about the week to come, but I’m pretty relaxed this Sunday evening. My daughters school lunch has already been packed, and she’s in bed. I’m showered and all preparations for Monday are done. Now I can finally sit down and focus on this post.

If you’re still reading, thank you for reading my 4th Sunday Sanity post! Let’s get started..

Favorite Blogger Of The Week:

I’ve been following this blogger for a while now, and I thoroughly enjoy reading his posts. I was extremely excited to have found another South African blogger amidst all these UK and US based bloggers. If there are South African bloggers out there in the Twitter blogging community, they sure are few and far between! Having a fellow South African blogger on there supporting my work has just been so amazing and I am in awe of his blogtopics and opinions.

His name is Tumiso Setladi, and you can find him on Twitter as @SetladiTumiso.Β Tumiso is based in Pretoria, South Africa. His blog is called MYBEING, and he blogs about his life and more importantly, things that can make others think. This is a man who thinks outside the box and his views on things are just so different. He certainly has a knack for explaining different aspects of life to his readers, as well as ways to overcome obstacles in their lives to optimize personal growth.

My favorite post of his so far is his latest, Between The Gap.

In this post he talks about things we have to endure and deal with – bridges we have to cross and gaps we have to fill – to get the life we were destined to have. I love his way of explaining it, so no description of this post will do it justice. Please give it a read and check out his blog, you won’t be disappointed!

What I’ve Learned This Week

Okay so I’m going to be honest.. I didn’t really learn anything major this week.. nothing big enough to mention in a blog post.Β

I read something about sending and receiving money on Facebook – which I never even knew was possible. Someone explained it to me, but I’m not very clued up on it. So I don’t know if that counts..

Also, English is my second language. I’m fluent, but I don’t know all the big words.. and today I learned that trees that are not evergreen are called deciduous trees. I enjoy learning bigger english words. I realise they might not even be big words, but considering that English is not my home language, I’m quite happy to add new words to my vocabulary!

What’s Made Me Happy This Week

My girlfriends mom has returned from her trip to America and seeing her has made me so happy! I missed having her around, even though she was only away for about 4 weeks. She brought us all things from America, and I absolutely love the gifts she’s brought me!

Another thing that has made me really happy this week, was the fact that my girlfriend assembled my desk at my house – so now I can finally start working on having my dream desk! I just love looking at desk pictures on Pinterest. Feel free to check out my Pinterest board – Pretty Desks. I will be posting pictures of my desk when I’m done with it!

Weekly Blog Update

I haven’t had much time to engage with other bloggers this week, but tried my best to catch up a little here and there. It’s been a pretty productive week though. I published two blog posts (this being my third one) and I’ve completed and scheduled two posts for my Blogtober challenge.

If you missed it, here are my posts this week:

No Rewind Button

June 28, 2018

Don’t you dare press
the play button with me
and be surprised when there’s no
rewind button

I was not built
for this kind of action
and inaction
I need only one
or neither

This unspoken contract
required for entering my life
is being ripped into pieces
my heart
is treated like a liability
not worth the risk.

Gosh, your Sunday Sanity posts are lovely. For someone who speaks English as a second language your write beautifully, and deciduous is a big word. There are a ton of people here who probably don’t know what it means. I look forward to reading more posts!
